I believe people getting away with murder and people getting
paid leave has absolutely nothing to do with the oppression of black people. Colin
Kaepernick is choosing to not stand for the national anthem because he feels
blacks are oppressed, but here he is playing in the National Football League.
Black people have the same rights as any other race in America; they are
treated fairly and equally. I believe that some people blow things out of proportion
and make a big deal at of some simple little thing. Kaepernick won’t stand and
show pride for his country that he thinks oppresses blacks, but blacks alongside
so many other Americans go overseas and fight for all of our freedom.
In my opinion he is doing this all just for attention. We
all know he won’t be playing much this season so he needs to attract attention
to him somehow, and what better way to do it than not stand for the national
anthem. He is making a huge deal out of nothing and it is just ridiculous. I understand
that he has the right to show respect for our flag or to not, and no one can
tell him he has to stand. I think that if you are an American you should want
to show respect for the flag and for all the privileges and rights we have as
Americans. You should show respect for those who lost their lives, blacks and
whites, for our great country.
No matter how you feel about America you should still
respect it and show that respect. No matter what race you are, you are
American. We all unite as Americans and should stand together and support each other
not cause problems with each other. Black lives do matter but so do everyone
else’s.
